From Nest to Wings is recruiting volunteers who can assist us in meeting our mission: To provide trusted tools and resources to all high school students, parents, and guardians as they navigate all aspects of the transition to post high school education opportunities.

A variety of positions, skills required, time commitments, and levels of administration are available. Please peruse the following job descriptions. If you have questions or wish further clarification, please contact Margaret Meek, Executive Director (, 720-231-6133) at your earliest convenience.

Training and support will be available for every position. This is your chance to exercise or grow your skill set in an environment that encourages creativity and cooperation as we work to improve the level of information available to high schools students and their parents about the transition to education (trade, community college, college, university) that is best for that student and family’s future.

From Nest to Wings was founded in 2012 when members of P.E.O. Chapter II in Longmont, Colorado spearheaded the creation of a conference for high school girls and their mothers focused on tools for a successful transition from high school through the end of the first year in college.  Many of these women were facing the task of helping their own children through the admissions process.  They did not feel as if they had the information on applying to college and the freshman year experience to assist their children in navigating the process.   From the first gathering through the next several years the annual conference expanded significantly, quadrupling in size to 148 registrants in 2018.  Additionally, a series of evening seminars were added for both young men and women. Further, newsletters and other informational materials were developed and special programs for Spanish-speaking parents were expanded. By 2018, the programs offered proved to be so successful that it was time for From Nest to Wings to breakout on its own.

Moving forward, From Nest to Wings is looking to expand both its conference and seminar offerings and to do so at the most economical price possible to encourage an increasing number of St. Vrain Valley School District (SVVSD) students and parents/guardians to attend each year. Another focus is to enhance the offering for Spanish-speakers and find new ways to encourage them to participate. These goals will need to be supported by expanded fundraising, additional partnerships and an even stronger focus on incorporating the most relevant topics into our programs.

In May 2018 From Nest to Wings moved through the process of becoming a corporation and securing a 501 (c) (3) tax status.  From Nest to Wings is recognized as a charitable organization by the State of Colorado.
