From Nest to Wings is designed to help families learn about college admissions as they are operated today.  We also allow families to focus on each child as they create their own unique path.

A one-day conference for sophomore, junior, and senior young women and mom/guardian.  Designed to provide information about the college
application process, college choice, and freshman year college experience.  This is a chance to get your questions answered.
 
Sophomores:  Developing high school resumes * Decision making* College applications * Testing

Juniors:  Becoming your own advocate * College visits * Scholarship applications * College applications * Testing * Reference letters * Personal goal setting

Seniors:  Maximizing your first year * Becoming your own advocate * Personal budgeting/finance * Health
* Employment * Personal goal setting * Co-curricular involvement * Roommates * Transfer credits * Study skills 

Parents:  Personal Goal setting * Relationships from a distance * Collecting information * Setting expectations

Spanish-speaking parents:  College Choices * Application process * Finances/FAFSA/scholarship applications
* Collecting information * Changing family relationships * Setting expectations

FACULTY

All sessions are led by experts in their field and allow time for questions.

SVVSD counselors and staff * College admissions, finance/financial aid , faculty, safety,  and student affairs professionals * College consultants * Representatives from colleges, universities, and community colleges *Professionals in their field


Note: All of the faculty members for our Spanish- speaking Moms track are fluent Spanish-speakers.

The conference registration fee includes
educational materials, breakfast snacks and lunch for each participant.
